The Faded Apprentice Staff is the worn-down bottom of the staff line — a Damaged weapon (16 Attack, Combat Value 100) that sits a step below even the Common Apprentice Staff (CV 200). It is the placeholder a fresh Sorcerer carries when they cannot yet rely on anything better: fine for learning the chanting rhythm against the first monsters of the Gyldenmist, but a liability the moment fights get serious.
- Where it sits: last place on the staff ladder. Every other staff in the database outclasses it.
- When to use it: the tutorial and very first solo runs, when the goal is learning the class, not clearing hard content.
- When to swap: as soon as anything else drops — the Common Apprentice Staff, or better yet the Excellent Focus Staff.
Community note: new-player coverage (July 2026) is unanimous that Damaged weapons are throwaway items; the community treats them as the game’s way of teaching the extraction loop without risking real value, not as equipment to keep. That is community advice, not an official statement.
