The Squire Polearm and Shield is the Withered Knight’s on-ramp to the support branch — the Common-tier set where the Polearm & Shield loop is meant to be learned: raise the shield to block and charge a Charged Dash, apply Wither at range with Javelin Thrust, and save the Intervene dash for teammates. With a flat 12 Attack and no modifier, it favors neither the solo duelist nor the trio off-tank; your output is entirely block discipline and positioning.

  • Where it sits: the bottom of the real Polearm & Shield ladder (Combat Value 200), above the damaged Rusty Squire Polearm and Shield (CV 100) and below the Guard Polearm and Shield (Rare, CV 300).
  • When to use it: your opening sessions as a Withered Knight while you learn blocking and ally-rescue timing.
  • When to swap: once a Rare or better set drops, or as soon as you can afford one.

Community note: the launch-day hotfix (July 30, 2026) buffed the Polearm & Shield branch directly — cheaper blocking and snappier charged advances — so the Common set is a better teacher now than it was at launch; no tier list ranks individual sets. That is community-informed context, not official data.
