July 30, 2026 Launch Client UpdatePermalink to this section
After the build cleared storefront review, Bellring scheduled the launch-day patch for July 30, 2026 at 16:00 UTC and told players to download it through their storefront. Besides the PS5 deck-screen anomaly, the update carried balance work and a long bug-fix list.
Withered Knight — Polearm & Shield. The weapon tuned down the energy cost of its charged dash and improved the turning performance of a Tier-1 charged dash, raised damage on specific thrust hits, increased the Spear Barrage damage multiplier, cut both the energy cost and cooldown of Rainbow Piercer, and made the basic Block action cheaper on energy.
The class is covered in more depth in the Withered Knight guide.
Bug fixes. Official notes list fixes for the Soul Tree extraction bug (re-entering the area while summoning an extraction point no longer consumes an extra Soul of Return), item splitting through the secondary menu, reconnection after disconnects on console, an impassable-area anomaly in the General Harald challenge, and unresponsive keys when the guide UI was closed quickly.
Also fixed: a controller-driven crash on the Seasonal Leaderboard screen, unequipping equipment from the Loadout with a controller, a UI freeze from rapidly accepting team invitations with a controller, incorrect Soul Ferry audio, skill abnormalities after switching classes while a Combat Bag was equipped, and an occasional failure to pick up loot drops.
Coverage also credits the patch with correcting the Sorcerer Flameblade’s visual range mismatch and some mistranslated tutorial prompts.
August 6, 2026 Client Update: Einherjar Mist LordPermalink to this section
Bellring deployed the client update on August 6, 2026, delivering the plan it first laid out in the August 1 Second Wave post.
The official announcement confirms the update increases Dried Flower Knot drops, opens challenges for the Einherjar Mist Lords, and addresses recent community feedback to improve overall stability; Bellring is also actively investigating the stuttering and latency issues reported recently.
The full patch notes were subsequently published (covered by IGN ), detailing class balance adjustments and a large bug-fix batch.
We’ll be deploying a client update on August 6 to increase Dried Flower Knot drops and open up challenges for the Einherjar Mist Lords. Concurrently, this update will address recent community feedback to improve overall stability; please refer to the upcoming patch notes for specific details. Official Steam news hub (app 3282300)
Two gameplay changes ride on this update:
- Dried Flower Knot drops are enabled. This Legendary cipher key is used to activate the Mist Lord’s Einherjar Mode.
- Einherjar Mode Mist Lord is open for challenge. Defeating it grants a higher chance of dropping Holy Weapons or Holy Forging Materials. The challenge and its ciphers are covered in Ciphers and How to Beat Bosses.
August 6 — Class balancePermalink to this section
- Blackarrow: uncharged “Steel Arrow” shots no longer apply an impact effect, and fully charged shots have a slightly reduced impact; fixed abnormal displacement when jumping after a side dodge and a collision prompt when aiming at Stealthed units.
- Withered Knight: reduced the Energy Cost of “Sprinting Slash” and “Withering Mark”; fixed skills catching on obstacles, premature interruption by the Inspect action, and “Thorn Guide” dragging Richie the Merchant.
- Mercenary: fixed Sword and Shield triggering auto-blocks under specific circumstances.
- Sorcerer: fixed the Stardust playstyle being unable to use a charged Meteor Charm.
August 6 — Bug fixesPermalink to this section
The patch fixed a batch of critical and quality-of-life issues, including the PS/Xbox friends list crash,
Hallowgrove’s Gyldenmist dealing no damage in specific circumstances, stackable items stacking incorrectly, gem affix crashes during matches, the “Allowed Combat Bags” display for Brandrgarde in Cataclysm mode, weekly task refresh times in Contracts and the Fate Chart, and incorrectly displayed bound equipment from defeated rival Gyldhunters.
The longer list also covers avatar frame display after switching Body Types, controller dragging audio, match leave/settlement issues, the Soul Tree model trapping players,Raging Rock cosmetic weapons visible to enemies,Cursed Moonwane audio,HDR text under Chinese settings, background music loss after reconnect,
Spectator mode black loading screens and ESC exits, various side-task text and objective errors,Soulcatch Tree localization, getting stuck after dodging in Brandrgarde’s Mine Pit, an incorrect male voice for Dew’s dialogue, the Fate Chart Selection Chest reward display,
Gyldening progress bar display, being locked out after interrupted executions, the Soul Separation Pill downed state,Blackarrow being unable to fire at match start, the “Iron and Fire” achievement not completing, and players changing Pip’s Pouches/Keychains after matchmaking.
August 3, 2026 Fair Play Penalty AnnouncementPermalink to this section
On August 3, 2026, Bellring published a Fair Play Penalty Announcement on the Steam news hub, committing to “strict action against any behavior that undermines fair play”: any player confirmed to be using cheats receives a permanent ban, and players found to be engaging in Illegal Teaming face penalties under the game’s fair-play rules.
The post also cleaned up a translation problem that had spread confusion about the rule. In some language versions, “Illegal Teaming” had been mistranslated as the broad phrase “cooperate with others,” which suggested the game was punishing ordinary co-op play. The studio clarified the actual definition:
Illegal Teaming = multiple players deliberately entering the same match to work together against other players, or engage in other unfair practices that ruin the experience for others. Only cases that strictly meet that definition are penalized.
The clarification matters for solo and multiplayer players alike: normal squad play with teammates you queued with is not affected — the rule targets players who coordinate across opposing teams in the same match. The studio said it continuously refines its detection and penalty systems for cheating and Illegal Teaming.
August 7, 2026 Server Online UpdatePermalink to this section
On August 7, 2026 Bellring rolled out a server-side online update — no client download required. It fixed one exploit-style bug: canceling a Polearm & Shield charge could abnormally trigger the Focused affix’s movement speed bonus, and that interaction is now corrected (covered in the Withered Knight class guide).
The same post bundled a progress update on the issues players had been reporting:
- Server lag / rubber-banding. The investigation is ongoing. Because in-stage environments are highly complex, lag can stem from many different causes, so the team is working through them case by case — and explicitly warned that “a one-shot fix for every lag issue may not be possible.” They said the issues should taper off with each successive update. See Stuttering Fix for player-side workarounds.
- Chat moderation. Bellring said it is actively addressing violating comments in chat and has banned nearly 30 ad accounts so far. A Block feature will be added in the next week’s update — once you block an account, its messages will no longer be shown to you.
- Cheating and Illegal Teaming. The team continues to address both; players can Report suspected cases in-match to help identify offenders faster, and the studio will soon roll out feedback emails triggered by successful reports so reporters learn the outcome.
Finally, the post previewed the next client update: it will officially launch Soul Harvest and open up Season Tasks, alongside another batch of fixes for the most-reported issues. Bellring said it would announce the specific contents once confirmed — watch the update timeline for the official date.
