Launch Day and AfterPermalink to this section

- August 7, 2026 — Server-side online update. Bellring rolled out a server-side online update (official Steam news ) with no client download required. It fixed an issue where canceling a Polearm & Shield charge would abnormally trigger the Focused affix’s movement speed bonus (see the Withered Knight guide). The same post delivered a progress update on reported issues: the server-lag investigation is ongoing and handled case by case — the studio warned “a one-shot fix for every lag issue may not be possible”; chat moderation has banned nearly 30 ad accounts, with a Block feature arriving in next week’s update; and the team continues to address cheating and Illegal Teaming, with report-feedback emails rolling out soon. It also confirmed the next client update will officially launch Soul Harvest and open up Season Tasks (see Soul Harvest and the roadmap).
- August 6, 2026 — Client update: Dried Flower Knot & Einherjar Mist Lord. Bellring Games deployed a client update (official Steam news ) that increased Dried Flower Knot drops and opened up challenges for the Einherjar Mist Lord, whose defeat carries a higher chance of dropping Holy Weapons or Holy Forging Materials. The same build took on recent community feedback to improve overall stability, and the team said it was still actively investigating the reported stuttering and latency issues. The detailed patch notes were subsequently published, covering class balance (Blackarrow, Withered Knight, Mercenary, Sorcerer) and a large bug-fix batch — see the Patch Notes guide for the full list.
- August 3, 2026 — Fair Play Penalty announcement. Bellring published a Fair Play Penalty Announcement on the Steam news hub, committing to strict action against behavior that undermines fair play: confirmed cheaters receive a permanent ban, and Illegal Teaming — multiple players deliberately entering the same match to work together against other players — faces penalties. The post also corrected a mistranslation of the Illegal Teaming rule in some language versions (which had been wrongly rendered as “cooperate with others”), clarifying that normal squad play is unaffected. See the Patch Notes for the full breakdown.
- July 30, 2026 — Global launch. Mistfall Hunter went live at 01:00 UTC across PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox, with Day One Xbox Game Pass availability. The official press release confirmed the 10% launch discount running from July 30 (01:00 UTC) to August 12, 2026 (17:00 UTC).
- July 30, 2026 — Launch rewards. In an official post, the developers reported that more than 100,000 players had joined within eight hours of launch. As thanks, they distributed a Thumbs Up gesture and 500 Soul Coins via in-game mail to players who logged in before September 1, 2026 (00:00 UTC). The same post announced a client update at July 30, 16:00 UTC (July 31, 00:00 Beijing time) after storefront review approval, which included a fix for an occasional PS5 deck-screen display anomaly. Steam news also promised mail rewards (a Bell of Return frame, a Finger Heart pose, and a “No it’s a bug” emote) for playtest participants.
- Launch-week reception. As of August 6, 2026, Steam user reviews sit at “Mixed” (roughly 68% positive across about 3,650 reviews at the time of writing, up from ~1,780 on July 31). Common complaints in Steam reviews focused on solo-queue map access, performance stutter, and microtransaction reliance, while many reviewers praised the PvP combat. The game topped the Steam Weekly Top Sellers chart (paid games) for Week 32 (July 28 – August 4, 2026) per VGChartz , with a weekly peak of roughly 44,000 concurrent players, and sat 3rd in the overall chart once free-to-play titles (Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2) were included — up from an early 3rd-place Steam sales debut with ~19,000 concurrent a few hours after launch per press tracking (Steam-only figures that exclude Xbox and Game Pass players).
- August 5, 2026 — One-million milestone & Wave 3 rewards. Bellring Games confirmed that more than 1,000,000 Gyldhunters had joined Mistfall Hunter across all platforms (see player count). To celebrate, the studio distributed the third wave of launch rewards to players who logged in before August 12, 2026 (12:00 UTC), as confirmed in the official announcement : the Standing Pose: Spellcasting, Moonlight Nectar ×5, Pro Combat Bag ×1, and Advanced Combat Bag ×1 (combat bags). The same announcement bundled a fresh roadmap laying out the rest of Phase I of Season 1 — Season Tasks, the Soul Harvest exchange shop, the Blackarrow Javelin weapon, the Golden Woodling monster, a Brandrgarde Solo Mode, an Underlord Speed Challenge, the Ancestor Tree event, and a Season 2 teaser (see the roadmap).

Season 1 Soul Hunt shipped with the launch. Its themed mode, Soul Harvest, is scheduled to go live on August 14, 2026 across every map and difficulty tier, and an Ancestor Tree event on Hallowgrove is planned for mid-season.
The press release describes Mistfall Hunter as a live-service title that will grow with new seasons roughly every three months, and the developers have confirmed ongoing performance and matchmaking work alongside each update.
